Six New Priests for Tagum

March 27, 2007, Tagum City. The Diocese of Tagum welcomes today with jubilation six new members of the clergy. The rite of ordination will take place at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon at Christ the King Cathedral, Tagum City. The Most Rev. Wilfredo D. 24 Seminarians Graduate at QACS

Twenty four (24) seminarians were declared graduates at the Queen of Apostles College Seminary, Tagum City, during the Graduation Rites held at the seminary gymnasium last March 24, 2007. The 23rd commencement exercises was preceded by a Thanksgiving Mass at 2:00 PM, presided by the Most Rev. Wilfredo D. Manlapaz, D.D., Bishop of Tagum, and concelebrated by Bishop Patricio H. Alo, D.D. of Mati diocese, and some twenty five priests who also came to grace the occasion.

Bishop Manlapaz Visits San Jose Seminary

Bishop willy Celebrates 26th episcopal Anniversary

Most Rev. Wilfredo D. Manlapaz, D.D., Bishop of Tagum celebrated his 26th Episcopal anniversay last February 7, 2007.

The occasion was highlighted by a con-celebrated mass at 5:30 in the afternoon at the Christ the King Cathedral. The homily was a little different when it was given by the six deacons of the diocese.

Dinner followed after the mass, where the Bishop, his guests and the clergy partake of the hearty meal especially prepared for the occasion. By: Vina M. Zaragosa

Tagum sends delegates to Naga Congress

Fr. Emerson delos Reyes, QACS Rector, and Sem. Joel Genosas, attended the First National Congress on the Pontifical Mission Society of St. Peter the Apostle in Naga City last January 17-20, 2007. About 220 seminary rectors, seminarians, formators, and mission directors joined the said congress that focused on the theme : Integrating Mission in Seminary Formation.

Congratulations His Excellency the Most Rev. Romulo Valles


Today is the Installation of Archbishop Romulo Valles as Bishop of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga. The new Archbishop is a former member of the clergy of Tagum before he was appointed Bishop of Kidapawan.

Bishop Larry Silva Visits the Seminary

On his second day here in Tagum, Bishop Larry Silva visited the Queen of Apostles College Seminary. He celebrated the evening mass with the formators and seminarians. In his homily he reminded the seminarians on the importance of recognizing Jesus among themselves and in the Holy Eucharist.

Welcome to Tagum Most Rev. Clarence Silva Bishop of Hawaii...Aloha!

The Bishop of Honolulu, Hawaii Most Rev. Clarence Silva arrived today in the Diocese of Tagum. He was warmly welcome by Bishop Willy together with some priests upon his arrival at the Clergy House around seven o’clock in the evening. With him is Fr. Pedro Dumag a priest from the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia who is also working in the Diocese of Honolulu.
