In the mid 1990’s Youth Ministers of the DaDiTaMa sub region was planned to hold 1st DaDiTaMa Youth Congress, unfortunately, it was not materialized due to change of leadership in the sub region. Due to the visions of the Youth Ministers of the sub region, they pursue that the congress will be done.
Until the planned was approved to be convention and not congress as a result of meetings by Directors, Coordinators and Youth Leaders of four dioceses since it will be the first time for the young people all over DaDiTaMa Sub region to gather together for the fellowship and to share experiences in faith and in life of the youth ministry.
In this 2008, A Dream become True when the Diocese of Mati accepted to be the host of the 1st DaDiTaMa Youth Convention through the support and generosity of Most Rev. Patricio H. Alo, DD bishop of Diocese of Mati and Rev. Fr. Alonito B. Tinong, DCM the Diocesan Youth Director at the same time Regional Youth Director of DaDiTaMa sub region. The convention will be held at St Therese Gym, Clergy House Compound, Madang, Mati City on November 7-9, 2008 with the theme ‘You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8). The said event aimed to gathered young people expressing their oneness being a Church, to explain deeper the role of the young people in the Basic Ecclesial Community and to establish camaraderie among the youth of DaDiTaMa Sub region. Expected total number participants between 250 t0 300 and this are active youth ministers and leaders of the Diocesan Youth Apostolate of Davao. Digos, Tagum. Mati dioceses.

- Prayers/ Bible Enthronement
- Workshops
- Inputs
- Sports Activity
- Cultural Presentation by Diocese
